Bid Farewell to 2009: A (Partially) Journey to Remember

*
When I'm typing this entry, 2010 is just around the corner within a few hours. 2009 had been quite challenging to me either in my personal life or my career life. This, is my journey in 2009...
*
Career
I personally do not think that I am a good teacher this year. Somehow I feel that I do not manage my time properly in preparing my stuffs to teach my kids. Yes, I am a kind of person who needs planning in almost everything I do. Even when I did my assignment during undergrad years, I even made a story board to arrange my assignment!
*
Financial
Owh ya, I got my increament last July but still I am not good in saving up my money monthly. Uhuks~~~ but I guess, I can still achieve my goal to save at least RM10K within two years of working. La la la...
*
Fashion
Wow, I think this year I spent a lot under this things. Yeap, and this year I realise that I looove fashion! Ha ha... I follow advices from my favourite magazine by not investing too much on a pair of clothes because you change it every day. Instead, invest on handbag, shoes or watch. I also learnt how to wear contact lense and I received different feedbacks from my colleagues and students. Some like it, others no. What ever it is, contact lense allows me to experimenting with my eyes (now only I realised that I have a pair of sepet eyes...this must be inherited from Mak).
*
Passion
Long live literature! I started to write poems again and mostly in English. I even bought a special book for me to write down my poems. And as usual, I bought a lot of books, enough to make my room filled with papers (-_-") But for the time being, I need to stop buying novels since I still have about 10 novels that need to be read up (as if I have a lot of time to read it =D )
*
Love Life
No story. Ha ha, it's private baby. I keep it to myself and my BFF
*
Debt/ Property
Early of this year, I join insurance. Of course, I have to pay it monthly. Early of this month, I bought someting which I have to pay the installment every month, starting next month. Sorry, no picture of the thing that costs me some $$$ each month. I will upload the picture in later entries.
*
Miscellanious
Second hand stuffs: First, I bought second hand clothes aka bundle clothes. Hey, who say that bundle is low class and only for guys? Before this, I was also sceptical about bundle. But hey, tak kenal maka tak cinta, it was proven that I am wrong about it. But one reminder to buy clothes from bundle, make sure that the clothes really, really looks nice, not something tacky. After all, you still use your money to buy it. Second, I bought second hand property (read under Debt/ Property label). It does not matter for me either it is first hand or second hand. As long as it can bring me from one place to another, conveniently, I am fine with it.
*

2009 Resolution: Is there any such thing for me? No. Not that I do not believe it. It is just that I am more into making short terms planning (as short as 30 minutes). The longest planning that I have this year might be to keep RM10K withing two years of working.
*
*
2010 A New Book
*

New year resolution? Huh, do not even have time to think about it. But I always believe that whatever it is, we must try to make our life better than yesterday. Avoid procrastination. Keep that in mind and you will realise that you have new resolution almost everyday you wake up from bed! Isn't that nice? But of course, sometimes we will face bad days. It is normal as a part and parcel of our life.
*
Good bye 2009. Welcome 2010!

Sindorm Pra Sekolah

*
Bukan, bukan.
*
24 Disember 2009
Menghadiri (baca: gantikan tempat orang) taklimat e-Kasih di SMK Sultan Alauddin Riayat Shah, Muar. Dua slot. Slot satu ngantuk habis, slot dua ada umphhh. Penceramah pun cun (sempat ushar heels dia yang mengancam habis!)
*
28 Disember 2009
> Guru Tingkatan 2A (-_-")
> Guru BI Tingkatan 2A, 1A, 1C,1F,1G =D
> Guru Anti Dadah (yes!!! suka)
> Guru Kebajikan (apa kes?)
> Guru Pengawas, hah???????
*
29 Disember 2009
Dah baik-baik buat list buku, h****m dia tak beli. Cuma nak buku kerja 'ja. Kena potong balik list tu. Haish!
Petang: Mesyuarat Panitia. Tak pasal- pasal aku kena jadi setiausaha Panitia BI. Haish.
Sendiri cari pasal. Hangin betul.
Mula berjual pukul 8 pagi.
Habis berjualan 12.30 tengah hari.
Waktu pulang 2.30 petang.
Sampai rumah pukul 3 petang.
If yesterday was bad, today is worse and tomorrow will be worst!
*
We do not plan to fail, but instead, we fail to plan. So, work out your plan. If you do not want to fail.

Mess... Arghhhhh!

*
My room is in a total mess. Not that I purposely do not want to clear and clean it up, it is just that I need all those papers to complete my scheme of works for next year. Hah, I will try to be a better teacher next year =)
*
Those papers actually are the worksheets that I did not use for my students this year. Some will say, just throw it away. But hey, what if the worksheets have 70 sets for each? It will be a total loss for me. Some more, I'm trying to save our environment =) as well as my pocket too!
*
Goodness, I think my head is already ting tong with all these stuffs. At the same time, I have to study the new text for literature. For those who have children or younger siblings who will be in form one and form four next year, they will study new text. The one that the students are studying right now is already ten years.
*
I'm more than happy when I know that they are getting new text. However, then I read through the texts (both forms), I felt a little bit disappointed. The text is not local at all! Except for 'Heir Conditioning' by M. SHANmughalingam, 'A Fighter's Lines' by Marzuki Ali (Form 1 text), 'In the Midst of Hardship' by Latiff Mohidin and 'Are You Still Playing Your Flute' by Zurinah Hassan (Form 4 text).
*
I wonder how my students will learn the texts as I expect that I'll teach among the last class. Phew, I really have to work extra hard next year. At the same time, I also expect to be sent for endless workshops next year. Haish... when will I have time to teach my kids? Haish...
*
Stop complaining Ain! Continue your work!
*
Dang!

REvisit: UPM

*
This is where we begin...
*
*
Since I started working last year, it is like a habit to go back to this place where I call it as home-sweet-home. Yes, UPM is our second home as MPTI/ IPTI is our first home.
*

I miss all these places, the BSN where we did our 'rompakan bersenjata' because our monthly allowance were bank in through it. Most of the time, the juniors who were still in Maktab will inform us when our allowance will be in. The Harbour Bridge, or some of us called it as 'bukit batak', because once, one of my friend misheard what my friend said. Actually, my friend was refering the bridge just like bukit kat maktab. So funny. We had scary times with the college bus since the drivers drove like manic. We always pray hard and cross our fingers, hoping that there would not be any accident. Plus, we also had a lot of headache since they played the non-friendly-'Kelly Ng'- songs non-stop.
* The FPP, is where we spent most of our times and when we discovered how cosy JPPPL is, we hang there like anything. This is also the rooms for our lecturers. We had our breakfast, brunch, lunch, tea, discussion, (dating) and a lot more things at faculty's cafe. Whenever we wanted to pay for our food, we always pray that the one who will calculate it will be the abang, not the makcik, because he usually will give us cheaper price. My lunch usually cost me only RM2. Wow, I do save a lot then it comes to food.

When we orded our drinks, the abang who prepared it usually will put a lot of condensed milk. And Sammy will say, "rasa susu sebenar, fresh dari ladang UPM". Once, I told him to make my Nescafe Iced a bit thick, so I told him "bang, kasi kaw punya" and he replied "okeh boss".

Oh, JPS is the least adimred place for TESLites and we could not understand how the sports students can stand with that place. It's scary and smelly, yucks!

We love the foyer! Hell ya, we love it like anything until we create a phrase nak berfoya-foya di foyer. A lot of informations we got from the foyer as we always look for updates at the boards. After that, we will spred it among 52 of us. When I went there the other day, I found an interesting banner, which is about MICELT 2010. We love MICELT, and for next year, it will be held in Equatorial Hotel, Melaka again! For more information about MICELT 2010, refer to this site for updates.
*
Besides FPP, we also had our lectures at Dewan Kuliah Akademik Pusat aka DKAP. When we first read DKAP on our timetable, we were wondering what does it stands for, and one of us replied "dewan kuliah atas pelatar kot?" =D It is greener compared to our degree years.
*
Oh, I went to the bookshop, and shop there like there is no place in KL that I can shop better. But wait, I found this, the script for Ronggeng Rokiah by Dr. Anuar Nor Arai. I did not bought it, but I just love the title la la la~~~
*
The entrance is one of our favourite spot. We admired the architecture and it is a good subject for photography. I remembered that I used this entrance as one of my subject of photography for my Teknology Pendidikan class. It was early of the semester. Students were still eager to go to class and I had to wait almost 30 minutes to make sure that nobody would interfere or enterframe my picture. Not a single human, and not a single vehicle! I was really tiring, but indeed, I managed to snap a beautiful picture.
*
Owh ya, Dr. Edwin will screamed at us if he saw us walking on the grass. "You UGLY PEOPLE, GET OFF FROM THE GRASS!!!" And when we entered his class, he will give us another lecture about walking on the grass. If you read the entry that I wrote about him, you will see our pictures with him standing on the grass. It was drizzling, what a beautiful moment, and he said like this to us, "because all of you, I had to be an UGLY PEOPLE today".
*
This is not the end. Although we had our convocation at Dewan Besar, it is not the end of our journey. In fact, it is the beginning of our career. We hope to come back to this place again to get our second degree. One day, we will tell our next generations proundly, "I used to study in UPM once. We never regretted even a minute of our life studying there and we are proud to be the Alumni of UPM"
*

Salah!

*
As an English teacher, sometimes I think I suffer because I tend to correct every single mistakes that people make when they speak or write in English. Sometimes, I even laughed at them (this happened during Induksi), scold them (during Induksi too), etc...
*
And look what's written on the paper...
*
I didn't realised it until I looked at it thorougly. This happened when I bought my new toy. If only the person who wrote this is my student, I will definately scold him on the spot!
*
HUH!

'Ronggeng Rokiah' (part 2/2009)

*
As I have promised earlier, I will write about my second part of 'Ronggeng Rokiah'. This time around, I went to KL (ya, there's no other place for me to go except JB and KL).
*
Day 1
I went to KL quite late as I had to go to school and finished some tasks.
*
Day 2
incik-kacang-senyum asked me where I wanted to go and I straight away said, "UPM!". And UPM, here I come!
*
I will write more about UPM in my next post.
*
After UPM, I went to Mid Valley (where else?) for my first round of book hunting. Unfortunately, I could not find the books that I wanted to buy, but wait! I still buy some books. It is a lie if I tell you that I entered a bookshop and walked out of it without buying any books. Haha...
*
And I went to The Gardens too (so jakun!), since I have never been there before. Mind you, I'm staying in Johor and going to KL is just like escaping from a prison.
*
Since Christmas is just around the corner, they decorated the places with christmas trees and castle. The one in MV is still unfinished (when I went there), but the one in The Gardens reminds me of bridal dais. Yeah, you know people nowaday are so creative until sometimes I think they have changed the dais into something else. *sigh*
*
Mid Valley
The Gardens
*
Day 3
*
I continued my book hunting session starting at Amcorp Mall. Actually I was looking for Popular, that's why I went there. I cannt say either I was unfortunate of fortunate enough since I reached Amcorp quite early (9 someting, *sigh*) and Popular only operated at 11 a.m. However, I found this book clearance sale and as a person who is addicted in buying books, this is unresistable. =)
*
Big Bad Book Sale @ Amcorp Mall
*
Then, I remembered that I used to come across a Popular near to Petaling Street. Therefore, I went there and viola! I found the books that I want. I continued my 'Ronggeng Rokiah' session to KLCC and had my lunch from Kyros Kebab.
*
*
Just like MV and TG, KLCC is also decorated with christmas trees, bread house and not to be forgotten, gingerbread man! I took this picture with the help of a Filipino lady who was on her vacation. It ended up with me taking her pictures and vice versa.
*
*
After the 'photography' session is over, I went to Kinokuniya (as usual) and took quite a lot of books. Come across my heart at that time, hopefully I have enough money to pay for those books or I will be a dead meat. And guess what? I got RM10 voucer since I spent more that RM100 in a reciept. There goes my smug face. Since the voucer can only be used from 3/1/2010 until 31/3/2010 I guess I have to come back to KL next year. Hopefully I will go there on sencod week of February and it also means that I can attend the first MASKARA next year, yeah.
*
*
Day 4
*
Went back home!
*
These are some of the stuffs that I bought on my second part of 'Ronggeng Rokiah'

'Ronggeng Rokiah' (part 1/2009)

*
As I wrote on my schedule for this week, I went to JB for three days and two nights. Yeah, JB is like my second hometown. Staying there for almost four years does not make me into an expert in JB area, though. Haha.
*
So, I had a nice moments there, hanging out with my little cousins. Hunting exercises book was less exciting since I could not find the references that I wanted to. Since next year the kiddos will studying new literature text, I feel that it is a must for me to find my own references.
*
My First Day
When I reached Terminal Larkin, I was looking for surau for Zohor prayer, but I could not find it. So I asked one of the shop assistant about it. She was a little bit puzzled and asked me back, "surau? maksud adik masjid?". This shows how I have missed a lot of thing about Terminal Larkin and now they have such a nice place to perform solat and it is air-conditioned too!
*
This makcik was so noisy, calling people to get into the buses. She attracted my attention not only because of her voice, but also because of her mismatched baju kurung and sarung too!
*
My Second Day
We went to City Square since I think I have enough 'visit' at Jusco Tebrau. I went to Padini Concept Store there and I found this lovely dress. Unfortunately I cannot wear it since I'm too short. Huhu~~~
*
My two lil cousin who (were forced) to accompanied me to have a tiring moments in the bookshops. Yes, I spend almost three hours in Popular and MPH.
*
Confused! She could not make up her mind on what to eat when I brought them to Laksa Shack. I am not a great fan of laksa, but if I have the opportunity to find Laksa Shack, I will definately eat Laksa Sarawak.
*
Zohor prayer. Now, my Paris Hilton can say "finally I'm out from Segamat!". =D
*
Can you guess where I took this photo?
*

The books that I bought. Literature references for next year syllabus, a bed time stories (because the students have to learn Rumplestiltskin, and my KP said it might be easier for them to learn it as a story instead of a play), Ustaz Hasrizal's travelouge and Uthaya Sankar's collection of short stories.
*
And I bought hard cover books too. The red one is for me to write about my love, my passion (guess what?) and another one is for working purposes (if I have to attend courses, I think I need a notebook that look serious).
*
My Third Day
Went back home!
*
(wait for my second part of Ronggeng Rokiah 2009 if I got to KL next week!)
*
Adieu!

Tercekik!

*
Kelakar. Tapi tak kelakar pun ada. Ini cerita saya. Terjadi dua malam yang lepas.
*
*
Sedang enak menikmati makan malam, tiba- tiba...
*
*
*
*
*
*
Saya tercekik tulang ikan!
*
*
Sebenarnya saya sedikit cuak, lagi- lagi bila teringat cerita salah seorang junior saya berkenaan situasi ini. Katanya, dia tercekik tulang ikan yang mak dia masak. Katanya lagi, tulang ikan tu besaaaarrrr. (Er... apa saya sedikit doubtful dengan saiz besar yang dia maksudkan, sebab Bahasa dia selalunya kurang tepat. Contoh ayat kegemaran junior saya adalah, "my punya rambut", haha).
*
Hmph...
*
Kopak lah RM15 kerana kes tulang ikan ni. Tak apa, lain kali kena berhati- hati occay~~~

Love Like This: My Two Weeks Induksi Course (part2)

*
Life can be so confusing. Full of sorrow and misery. When you fall, there's nobody willing to held you up again, and everybody seems to turn away from you.
*
Life can be just like a storm in a cup of tea.
*
... but everything will be fine if you have a circle of people who are always beside you and support you.
*
Here we come, the Kaizen...Haha, what an introduction. Actually I had planned to write this entry for so long. However, due to time constrain, I always delay to write it. But when I had a chat with Kluang Girl through Facebook, I suddenly feel excited to write this entry. Again, it is about Induksi, but this time around, I would love to write about the people in Kaizen- my group.
*
The Boss

Our very super caring leader and cracked a lot of jokes. Days will be bored without him. At first everybody thought that he is still single, but alas, he just got married a few weeks before Induksi. Although he always pretend that he is still single, deep inside his heart, we know that he loves his wife soooo much. He is just like a brother to me and Kluang Girl as both of us are the youngest in the group.

The Singer
We will never get worried if they asked us to find representative from our group to sing as we know that we will always turned up to her. The Singer will always do her best in her performance and never failed to make us sing along with her. She is also the assistant to our Boss. At the same time, she is also the Secretary for the whole Induksi group.

Ustaz

This self elected treasurer is nothing less to be compared to our Boss. With his 'selamba' style, he also never failed to make us laugh non stop when we look at his face. Who could forget when he recited the prayer before we eat and without feeling gulity, he invited those pregnant ladies to have their meal, although it is supposed to be the MC's job. At the same time he can be so fatherly when he gave us ice cream as a treat after we had a drift- shopping for Hari Raya celebration.

The Warden
At first, I was a little bit afraid when I looked at her. But then only I realised that she is a warden at her school and no wonder she has this aura of confidence and firmness. Although she is a warden, it does not mean that she cannot crack jokes and most of the times, she will be sharing stories with us about students under her wings at hostel. One of our memorable dialouge was when she asked me "where do I accidentally meet you guys?". I was a little bit puzzled as I know the answer must be during Induksi. So, I asked her "why?". And her answer was "because all of you are nuts!" Hahaha~~~

Mr. MC

This fellow, I don't think that I have to introduce him further as most of you know him since he became my so called 'partner-in-crime' during one of the slots during Induksi. This is not a wild guess, but a fact that he has a lot of admirers during Induksi. One of memorable incidents was, when he was absent from a slot and we kept on speculating where he is until one of the boys said that he went to a polyclinic because of of tooth problem. Late in the afternoon we met him and asked him what happened and he replied that his muscle and jaws had some problem. We were laughing like anything because we believe that this might due to over chewing or over laughing. LOL~~~

Kluang Girl
Another partner of mischieve of mine other than The Warden. She even accompanied me to meet somebody (whom cannot be mentioned here) and shared my scary moments at McD Bandar Hilir. We will laugh non stop when we discuss about that issue. Kluang Girl, how I miss that super-crazy moment that we have had together throughout this course.

The Councelor
Although she is a councelor, she has this wacky, goofy personality until we do not believe in her when she said that she is councelor, whoa! Her bubbly personality cheered us up and we will miss her if she is not around even for a second. Other than that, she also has this fashion sense which is reflected through her jewelery and handbag. Oh, another thing is, her favourite word is "RAHSIA!" haha

Mak Buyong 2
An expecting mother for her first baby. She is sooo gentle and can stand under the coolest air-cond (Mr. MC surrender for this). Very soft spoken and always take a very good care of herself and we always beware wherever she goes.

Mak Buyong 1

Unlike Mak Buyong 2, this another Mak Buyong is very energetic and she even played bowling! Whoa, we was so afraid at that time, but we dare not to stop her. As this is not her first pregnancy, we believed that she could take care of herself. And yes, before every meal, she will take out all pills that she need to take and put it nicely on the papers before she swallow it with just one gulp of water.

*
Is this the end of the story? Might be, but the memories that we shared will be for eternity. There's nothing that could be compared to our friendship and it is priceless in the sense of it one of a kind of experience that money can't buy.

School's Over!

*
Yeah baby, school's over and it's over! Huh, sound like an over excited teacher. Haha, believe me, I am. This year, I promise not to be a holiday grinch. If you read my last year's post, you will know how I actually hate holiday. This time around, I planned carefully my holiday. Hopefully everything will turn out as I planned.
*
Ah, before that I would like to 'story' about my last week before school holiday. It's pretty hell for teachers as we have to finish up everything before the school ends. I would like to give a credit to my cousin who is willing to come back to my home-sweet-home and help me to complete my work. Haha...
*
Karnival Sukan Celcom UOX @ Palong Timur
*
The journey was sooo long winded and my students actually had a terrible headache during the journey. Nevertheless, when they reached the place, they acted as if nothing happened to they during the journey. They must be so damn excited about this. Haha, so much of drama queen and king.

The long winded journey

The students were off to the hall, but we went for our breakfast and 'ngeteh' first. So much of a responsible teacher. =D

The competition was not that bad and my kids performed excellently on that day.
*
After the carnival, I forced my friends to accompany me to have a walk around the town and I ended up giving them a treat at Pizza Hut. Only this time, I came across of Tabasco sauce. Was I in the twilight zone before this until I never saw this sauce everytime I went to Pizza Hut?
Tabasco sauce
*
School Annual Dinner
*
Kak Win said, "never believe Ain whenever she took out her handphone and take pictures. Your picture might ended up uploaded to her blog".
*
LOL. It's true. But since I promised that I won't uploaded certain pictures, the pictures will remain in My Pictures folder (well, at least for the time being =P). But sincerely, I didn't have much opportunity to take a lot of pictures that night since I was forced to be the MC. So much of being an MC this year until I decided to take a etiquette and protocol course after this. Oh, and I wasn't alone that night as I had a 'partner-in -crime' that night. Suddenly I remembered Mr. MC. Owhhh~~~
The Ustazs and Mr. E was listening tentatively to what my 'partner-in-crime' said.

And as usual, I was far cry form being lucky for any Lucky Draw. Hmph...
*
Bee Gek's Wedding
*
Wow, this is what I waited the most. She's married, lalalala... she's married, lalalala... she's married, lalalala... haha, so annoying. Anyway, congratulations Bee Gek. You are now entering a new phase of your life. Never forget our '6 Rendah 3', as our 'form teacher' will also ended his single life by next year...
Me and Bee Gek.
When I MMS this picture to one of my BFFs, he replied to me by saying 'dear, both of you look alike!" Haha~~~
*
And guess whom I found there? Ecah and her lil sis! (of course with their parents too). When I saw her with her red hood, automatically I said 'little red riding hood'. Haha, but Ecah, believe me, you are not little anymore. So you are...
BIG Red Riding Hood
=P
*
... and these are what they ate that night.
See, I've told you that you are BIG. Even with your appetite. No hard feeling occay Ecah?
*
Yeah, and now I'm sort of enjoying my holiday with extra dosage of sleep. As the result, no more ugly eye bags. Yeah, I'm lovin' it!
